Photos will be accepted for entry in the contest from February 17, 2012 until March 20, 2012.
- Eligibility
The contest is open to all. Only one photo per person is allowed.
Photo entry must be taken in North-East India and represent North-East India. Any kind of photo is accepted - culture, people, places, wildlife etc.
The photo should be submitted through e-mail only. By submitting an entry, the entrant agrees with the rules and confirms that his/her entry meets all requirements set out in these official rules. Failure to comply with the rules means automatic disqualification. Current employees of Eastern Fare and their family members are not eligible to enter the contest.

- How to Enter
Each entry should consist a single photograph. An entrant may submit only one photograph. There is no entry fee for this contest. Submit the completed form (below) along with the electronic file of the photograph attached via e-mail to northeastindia@easternfare.com before the deadline.

- Photograph Requirements
Each entry must comply with the following requirements:
- Entries must be in digital format only.
- Entries must be in color or black and white only. No sepia.
- Only online entries, i.e., sent to northeastindia@easternfare.com, are eligible. No print or film submissions will be accepted.
- Digital file (processed or raw) must be labeled as: Name of the photographer_Place_Date.
- Submit a digital photo (JPEG/JPG only). It can be no larger than 5 megabytes (MB) and must be at least 1,600 pixels wide if it is a horizontal image or 1,600 pixels tall if it is a vertical image.
- The photo should not contain any kind of water mark.
- Only basic photo manipulation is allowed, i.e., cropping, burning/dodging and brightness/contrast correction. But it should be minimal. Do not overdo it. Editing performed with in-camera settings prior to taking the photo is also acceptable but must be specified by the entrant on the entry form.
- The photograph in its entirety must be a single work of original material taken by the entrant using a camera.
- In entering this contest, the entrant confirms that the submitted photograph is an original work created solely by the entrant; that no copyrights, trademarks, moral rights, rights of privacy/publicity, or intellectual property rights of any person or entity are violated; and that the entrant has sole right, title, claim, or interest in the photograph.
- Contest Categories and Winners
The awards consist of 1st prize, 2nd prize and 10 consolation prizes.
- 1st Prize (Title : NE PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR) - Rs 3,000 cash, certificate and a gift hamper.
- 2nd Prize (Title : OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT AWARD) - Rs 2,000 cash, certificate and a gift hamper.
- 10 consolation prizes - Rs 500 each, certificate and gift hamper.
- Judging
The photos will be uploaded on the North-East India community page on Facebook for people to vote. The voting process begins on March 21, 2012 untill 8AM, April 9, 2012. The photo getting maximum number of votes will be the 1st prize winner.
The winners will be notified through the North-East India community page on Facebook as well as E-mails.
- Limitation of Liability / Terms
By entering this contest, all entrants agree to release, discharge, and hold harmless the organizers (Eastern Fare and Team, North-East India Community on Facebook) from any claims, losses, and damages arising from their participation in this contest or any contest-related activities and the acceptance and use, misuse, or possession of any prize awarded. The organizers of 'North-East Through My Eyes Photo Contest, 2012' reserve the right to revoke awards if winners are found to have violated any of the contest rules.
By entering the contest, the entrant agrees to grant Eastern Fare an irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide nonexclusive license to reproduce, distribute, display, and create derivative works of the entries (along with the photo information and entrant’s name) only in connection with the contest and promotion of the contest. Eastern Fare will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such use.
Winners of the contest agree to cede to Eastern Fare all rights for use of the photograph in any one of Eastern Fare’s information products not limited to its publications, website, and promotional materials. Eastern Fare will have the right to use the winning entries for information, education, and public relations purposes without further compensating the winners.
